John Glenn’s kind of thinking

Sen. John Glenn, D-Ohio, chairman of a committee, is charged with reducing the armed forces by 100,000 people and thereby saving the taxpayers the sum of $1.5 billion. He states that “they are going to be booted out of their careers for just that tiny amount of money.”

With that kind of thinking, no wonder the national debt is out of control. I realize that with the senator’s access to political action committee money and a friendly banker like Mr. Keating of California, his idea of a tiny amount of money is quite different from my version of what constitutes a pittance.
