Oil companies aren’t playing fair

Shame on the major home-heating dealers in this area for being so greedy as to increase oil prices way before any crisis started. There is no question we might have to bite the bullet later on after perhaps after an embargo starts, but from the first week in July to Aug. 6, prices have skyrocketed to 89.9 cents per gallon from 63.9 cents. And to add insult to injury, from 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3 to 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, prices rose 10 cents per gallon.

Not fair. Those huge tanks farms are not depleted, and call it what you want, we’re being ripped off.

All the charitable work, sponsorships, scholarships, and community involvement do not give carte blanche to take such unfair advantage of us. Who’s us? The working man and woman who see these lousy, sneaky, greedy, fat-cat oil companies grab us for extra dollars. Joel Rudom Bangor
