University center plans orientation

THOMASTON — The University of Maine at Augusta’s Thomaston Center will hold a new student orientation program for recent high school graduates from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, July 12, at the center.

There will be a discussion about how to make a successful transition from high school to college. Topics include becoming a college student, handling the academic course work, and balancing the responsibilities of work and school. Students will tour the Thomaston Center and meet staff and representatives of student government.

Student advisers will assist students with registration procedures for the fall semester. Interested people should call the center at 354-6906 or 596-6979.
