Bucksport fund-raising fair to benefit Latin American rain forest preservation

BUCKSPORT — Social science study students of the eighth grade at Bucksport Junior High School will hold a Latin American Children’s International Rain Forest fund-raising fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at the junior high school. There will be games, booths and balloons for children and sale of Latin American food. Children will be dressed in Latin American costumes and play Latin American music.

A play will be presented for children twice during the morning and twice in the afternoon with a Latin American theme. Proceeds will benefit the Children’s International Rain Forest, a non-profit organization established to promote awareness of an education about all rain forests and to channel donated funds to preserve undisturbed tropical rain forests in Costa Rica. There will be a small fee charged for food and games and admission is free. For additional information, call Connie Gonzales at 469-3172 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
