Carmel man faces charges after accident

GRAND LAKE STREAM — Robert Babcock, 24, of Carmel was injured at approximately 3 p.m. Monday when his ATV-dirt bike flipped over near a busy campground, Elsmore Landing, near Pocumcus Lake.

According to Maine State Warden Sgt. Michael Marshal, Babcock recevied many abrasions and a possible broken ankle. He said the ATV was unregistered and Babcock has received a summons for operating an unregistered vehicle. He was also charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor after a blood test was taken.

Assisting Sgt. Babcock at the scene of the accident was Warden Special Deborah Palman of Aurora.
