Moosehead marketplace to open for season May 26-27

GREENVILLE — The street market approach to selling goods and services in the Moosehead area proved successful last summer, being both profitable for participants and an added attraction for visitors to the region.

This year, the marketplace will open its season Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27, and a new and interesting location is scheduled. Plans are for the vendors to provide atmosphere and lend excitement to the opening of Wilderness Expeditions’ Greenville base. Rafting, rental and reservation information for both Wilderness Expeditions and the Birches Resort will be available through the newly located facility at the Muzzy barn on Indian Hill.

John Willard of Wilderness Expeditions will be able to assist more readily travelers interested in his recreational services. Denise Sauren of Moosehead Marketplace and Sunbower Pottery looks enthusiastically at the prospects of mutual benefits for the vendors, Wilderness Expeditions, and the area’s visitors.

Numerous activities will be planned at the site on both days. Many craftspeople and businesses will be represented, some of which are Norridgewock Wood Crafters, Bill and Jan Orcutt’s North Star Maple Products, Sharon and Sonny Bartlett’s festive woven goods, pottery from Sunbower, garden and ornamental plants from Mount View Landscaping in Willimantic and more.

Business and services interested in participating may contact Sauren at 695-2870. Full details on the weekend, and the complete summer schedule, are available.
