Special trash pickup set for Holden

HOLDEN — Holden residents will have an opportunity to get rid of items not picked up by regular weekly trash collections on three weekends by bringing them to the Public Works garage on Route 1A for free disposal.

The garage will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day Friday through Sunday, April 20-22, April 27-29 and May 4-6. Participants are responsible for unloading and separating items. An attendant will be on duty to give directions.

Acceptable items are appliances, furniture, tires, some automobile parts and small amounts of homeowners’debris.

Items not acceptable are: material that can be put in the regular weekly pickup (household, garbage, leaves, paper), automobile bodies, construction debris or demolition debris, brush, stumps and hazardous materials.

Elderly or handicapped people who have no way to transport items should call the Town Office at 843-5151. For more information call the Town Office.
