Seminar to focus on natural foods

The Seventh-Day Adventist Church will sponsor a “Fun with Natural Foods” seminar at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Kenduskeag Terrace, 117 Court St., Bangor.

The seminar will be presented by Preston and Jeannie Wallace, a health team from Weimar Institute in California. The institute’s reconditioning program uses the concepts incorporated in NEWSTART — nutrition, exercise, water, sunlight, temperance, air and rest.

“Twenty-two million Americans suffer from high blood pressure,” said church member Joan Thompson. “Roughly 40 million Americans are medically obese. And, more than 600,000 people in this country died last year from heart disease alone. Is it any wonder that more and more people are becoming concerned about American eating patterns, and that thousands are earnestly seeking information on proper nutrition?”

Preregister for the class by calling 942-9201.

The Seventh-Day Adventist Church is known for its stop-smoking clinics, natural food cooking schools, stress management classes
