Conservation group accepting ordersfor trees

HOULTON — The Southern Aroostook Soil and Water Conservation District will accept orders for their annual tree and shrub sale in March and April at the U.S. Department of Agriculture Building in Houlton.

Several varieties of semidwarf apple trees as well as shade trees, flowering crabs and other ornamental trees and evergreens will be offered for sale. Raspberry and blueberry bushes and strawberry plants also will be available.

Jerseymac, McIntosh, Macoun, Cortland, Northern Spy, Wealthy and Red and White Delicious varieties of apple trees will be available for $9 each.

Pine, spruce, fir and other assorted conifers and wildlife shrubs also will be available.
