Principal Terry Despres has announced the honor parts for the 1995 graduating class at Ashland Community High School.
Valedictorian is Thomas Kenny, son of Joseph and Katsue Kenney of Ashland, and salutatorian is John L. Larson III, son of John and Judy Larson II of Ashland.
Kenny is president of National Honor Society, an Eagle Scout, played in the school band four years and received all A’s throughout his high school career. He plans to major in electrical engineering at the University of Maine.
Larson is a member of National Honor Society, played in the band four years, participated in school musicals, received the Scholar’s Achievement award and placed second in the State Odyssey of the Mind two years. He received letters in soccer, basketball and baseball and earned the Presidential Academic Fitness Award. Also an Eagle Scout, Larson plans to study civil engineering at the University of Maine.
Also named to honor parts were Melanie Theriault, daughter of Melvin and Brenda Theriault of Ashland; Beth Hunter, daughter of Terrence and Elaine Hunter of Ashland; Michelle Junkins, daughter of Michael and Randa Junkins of Masardis; Kelly Lakin, daughter of Harold and Mirabel Lakin of Masardis; Andrew Sjogren, son of Carl and Cathy Sjogren of Ashland; Veronica McPherson, daughter of Herbert and Jean McPherson of Portage; Kara Hay, daughter of Dawn Hay of Ashland and Bill Hay of Presque Isle; and Steven Smith, son of Frank and Carol Martin of Ashland and Donald Smith of Pennsylvania.
Graduation will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 2, at the Bobby Goding Memorial Gymnasium at the school.
