I want to thank Dr. Dale Lick and his staff for the very informative meeting for candidates at the University of Maine. I want to express my deep concern, however, regarding those Democratic candidates who refused to attend their meeting. These same individuals, in the past, have sought to politicize the university, which is totally inappropriate.

In fact, I believe our university system and education, generally, must remain non-partisan. I want to express my strong support for the University of Maine, its faculty and staff.
